Frequently Asked Questions

If you are new to P&A Eyecare Independent Opticians
you will probably have a few questions!

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions we get from new clients.

I’ve tried to be as helpful as possible in the answers I give, however if anything
is unclear we’re always happy to answer your specific questions individually.

How much do glasses cost at p&A eyecare?
The simple answer is it depends on what type of frame you choose and what your lens requirements are.

The good news is that there are always options available to you and every week we help clients who previously went to opticians like Vision Express and Boots.  They will happily spend just a little more than they did at the chain stores to get something that they really love and enjoy wearing.

We specialise in independent eyewear so our frames are of superior quality, often handmade with fantastic design and different from the usual main stream brands.  So they do cost a little more than the normal designer brand names that are mass produced and that you see everywhere.

Our frames start at around £95.  Most of our popular collections are in the £200-£300 price point, with more luxurious and exclusive collections at the higher-end of the spectrum.

The lenses we work with are also the highest quality available so that our clients benefit from the best possible vision.

If you wear single vision lenses (e.g. for distance or reading) our lenses start at £95 and go up to £295.  If you wear varifocal lenses our premium lens prices start from £265 and go up to £565.  Our basic varifocals start from £185 including lens coatings.

This may be more than you have paid for glasses elsewhere, but our clients feel they are getting more for their money at P&A Eyecare.

Before coming here, many of our clients had been disappointed with their glasses in the past, so they would rather invest a bit more to get something that they actually feel good in, considering they will likely wear their glasses every day for 2 or 3 years or longer.

In addition to choices when it comes to how much you invest in your eyewear, we also can spread the payments for your glasses over 3 to 6 months with no extra cost and with no hassle. That way you can get the glasses that are best for you without having to compromise or delay.
How often should I have an eye test?
It's advisable for most people to have an eye examination every two years or more frequently if advised by your optometrist.

If you are experiencing problems with your eyes or you feel your vision has changed it's best to attend early.

Even if you're happy with your vision it's worth having a regular check-up.  A comprehensive eye examination includes checking the health of the inner and outer parts of the eye.
