We are delighted to have two Glaucoma Specialist Optometrists working at P&A Eyecare.  Patricia McMaster in Marchmont and Ewan Campbell in Crieff have both untaken and passed the NES Glaucoma Award Training.

This qualification allows our independent prescribing optometrists to manage Glaucoma patients within our practices.  Glaucoma is a sight threatening condition that needs close monitoring to prevent blindness. Currently, patients can face long waiting times to see specialists in secondary eyecare departments, where glaucoma accounts for 20% of outpatient activity, so innovative redesign of the service was needed.
