Welcome to P&A Eyecare, we are a family run independent opticians with practices in Crieff, Perthshire and Marchmont, Edinburgh.
Our passion and purpose is to elevate the usual visit to the opticians into something more, an enjoyable experience.
We are a small family business working hard to build a practice built on loyal, long-lasting relationships. When it comes to your eyes and your eye care, small means specialised. It means more time devoted to you and your needs, putting you at ease in comfortable surroundings and treating you as an individual.
OUR STORY
P&A Eyecare is a family business spanning 30 years and two generations.
Founded in the North East of England by husband and wife team, Peter and Avril, the P&A brand has stood for quality and a commitment to clinical excellence since its inception.
In 2013, following Peter and Avril's relocation to Scotland, our practice in Crieff was established and in 2022 we completed the purchase and refurbishment of our Edinburgh location.
Today the business is in the safe hands of Avril's son James and his wife Nishita. In an ever changing landscape of corporate buyouts and private equity firms snapping up independent practices at an alarming rate, we are proud to remain 100% independent and family owned.
It is through our independence that we are able to provide a truly personal experience.

How Much Does An Eye Examination Cost?
In Scotland the NHS funds a basic eye examination at set intervals for all UK residents. But if you would like to benefit from the best care, our enhanced eye examination is available to all, you can upgrade your NHS examination for £35.00 and a fully private exam costs £85.00.
How Long Is My Appointment?
We recommend allowing between 90 minutes and 2 hours for a comprehensive eye examination and eyewear consultation. This allows for an in depth eye examination followed by a relaxed spectacle styling with one of our team.
Do You Provide Children's Eye Examinations?
Yes we do! We are happy to see children for routine eye examinations from the age of 3 and sooner if you have concerns. We have a great range of children's frames and specialise in Myopia Management for short-sighted children and adolescence.
Can You Dispense Complex and High Prescriptions?
Yes! Our experienced dispensing team is comfortable dealing with high and complicated prescriptions. We will advise you on the latest lens technology to maximise your vision and make your spectacles as comfortable and as clear as they can be.
Do You Fit Contact Lenses?
Absolutely. Although we specialise in all things spectacles our optometrist's are adept and experienced fitting a wide variety of contact lenses. Whether you want to trial lenses for the first time, or you are an experienced wearer looking for regular care our team will take care of you.
